There is no established classification scheme for literary characters in narrative theory short of generic categories like protagonist vs. antagonist or round vs. flat. This is so despite the ubiquity of stock characters that recur across media, cultures, and historical time periods. We present here a proposal of a systematic psychological scheme for classifying characters from the literary and dramatic fields based on a modification of the Thomas-Kilmann (TK) Conflict Mode Instrument used in applied studies of personality. The TK scheme classifies personality along the two orthogonal dimensions of assertiveness and cooperativeness. To examine the validity of a modified version of this scheme, we had 142 participants provide personality ratings for 40 characters using two of the Big Five personality traits as well as assertiveness and cooperativeness from the TK scheme. The results showed that assertiveness and cooperativeness were orthogonal dimensions, thereby supporting the validity of using a modified version of TK’s two-dimensional scheme for classifying characters.

The National Long-Term Fertilization Trials were set up more than 30 years ago and in that time soil and water protection and environmental relations of fertilization had not been the direct aim of research. From the agricultural load the use of phosphate fertilizers gets outstanding attention because of the accumulation of toxic heavy metals. The aim of our research was to study the infl uence of long-term, intensive fertilization on the available toxic element content and accumulation in different soils. Samples were collected from 8 experimental sites with equal treatments from the depth of 0-20 cm. The so-called available, 0,1M KCl + 0,05M EDTA extractable element content was determined. In the paper the results of Cd, Pb, Cr, are discussed in details. The experimental results of toxic elements show that the 28-year old constant fertilization treatments did not result higher values than the accepted concentration level, even they did not approach it.

The present study reviewed frugivory characteristics of the Stone Marten (Martes foina Erxleben, 1777) in Bulgaria with special reference to cultivated plants. A total of six studies were compiled, which showed that nine species fruits (eight species of them were cultivated) and 17 genus/family-level-identified fruits (six genera of them were cultivated) were consumed by the marten.
