High statistics angular distributions and total cross sections for the photoproduction of $\pi^0$ mesons off the deuteron with coincident detection of recoil nucleons have been measured for the first time. The experiment was performed at the tagged photon beam of the Mainz Microtron (MAMI) for photon energies between 0.45 and 1.4 GeV, using an almost 4$\pi$ electromagnetic calorimeter composed of the Crystal Ball and TAPS detectors. A complete kinematic reconstruction of the final state removed the effects of Fermi motion. Significant effects from final-state interactions (FSI) were observed for participant protons in comparison to free proton targets (between 30% and almost 40%). The data in coincidence with recoil neutrons were corrected for such effects under the assumption that they are identical for participant protons and neutrons. The total overall systematic uncertainty was estimated at 7%. Excitation function at cos(Theta_pi0)cm = -0.25

For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.euResearch data keyboard_double_arrow_right Dataset 2018 EnglishHEPData EC | EPLANET, NSERCEC| EPLANET ,NSERCAuthors: ATLAS Collaboration;ATLAS Collaboration;A search is presented for photonic signatures, motivated by generalized models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. This search makes use of proton-proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb$^{−1}$ recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC, and explores models dominated by both strong and electroweak production of supersymmetric partner states. Experimental signatures incorporating an isolated photon and significant missing transverse momentum are explored. These signatures include events with an additional photon or additional jet activity not associated with any specific underlying quark flavor. No significant excess of events is observed above the Standard Model prediction, and 95% confidence-level upper limits of between 0.083 fb and 0.32 fb are set on the visible cross section of contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model. These results are interpreted in terms of lower limits on the masses of gluinos, squarks, and gauginos in the context of generalized models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry, which reach as high as 2.3 TeV for strongly produced and 1.3 TeV for weakly produced supersymmetric partner pairs. Observed exclusion limit in the squark--bino mass plane, using the $\mathrm{SR}^{\gamma\gamma}_{S-H}$ analysis for $m_{\tilde{\chi}^{0}_{1}} > 900$ GeV and the $\mathrm{SR}^{\gamma\gamma}_{S-L}$ analysis for $m_{\tilde{\chi}^{0}_{1}} < 900$ GeV.

A search is presented for photonic signatures motivated by generalised models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. This search makes use of $20.3{\rm fb}^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC, and explores models dominated by both strong and electroweak production of supersymmetric partner states. Four experimental signatures incorporating an isolated photon and significant missing transverse momentum are explored. These signatures include events with an additional photon, lepton, $b$-quark jet, or jet activity not associated with any specific underlying quark flavor. No significant excess of events is observed above the Standard Model prediction and model-dependent 95% confidence-level exclusion limits are set. $\rm{SR}^{\gamma\gamma}_{S-H}$ and $\rm{SR}^{\gamma\gamma}_{S-L}$ signal acceptance*efficiency across the strong-production parameter space, for $m_{\tilde{g}}$ between 1250 and 1300 GeV.

A study of events in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV characterised by having large missing transverse momentum, jets and at least two tau leptons from a data sample of integrated luminosity 2 fb-1. The analysis finds no excesses above the Standard Model and presents lower limits on the GMSB breaking scale, Lambda, and the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets, tan(beta). Data on the acceptances and efficiencies are given here taken from the auxilliary material linked below. The observed 95% CL limits on the minimal GMSB model parameters Lambda and tan(beta) over the tan(beta) region 42.8 to 48.8.
