Samuel McLaughlin Foundation-Exercise and Pregnancy Laboratory as she discusses the Canadian guidelines for exercise during pregnancy, and the benefits for both mother and baby for adopting a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy.

The diversity of foods available and the way we produce, process and distribute them can have consequences in terms of infectious illnesses. This talk by Dr. Robert Lannigan, professor in Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, explores some of these concerns.

How does music influence politics? During the Cold War, the U.S. government used music as a tool to promote democratic capitalism overseas. Emily Abrams Ansari, professor in Western's Don Wright Faculty of Music, examines these efforts alongside other political appropriations of music during this period.

After devoting the better part of forty-years to his chosen profession and The University of Western Ontario, Walter Zimmerman retired from his career as an academic librarian in December 2009. His 'last lecture' was given December 11, where he shared his most memorable moments, lessons learned and thoughts on the ever-changing nature and role of academic libraries and librarianship.
